U3
U3 means a dent larger than a palm.

A dent bigger than a hand, and on a panel that will need beating out, filling and painting. Nobody polishes out a U3.
Look at what is behind the panel. A U3 on a quarter panel or a rear wheel arch can involve the inner structure, and inner structure is where a cheap repair becomes an expensive one.
If the diagram carries a U3 and the overall grade is still 3.5 or better, the rest of the car is probably sound. Grade and diagram should be read together, never separately.
What it should do to your bid
Take the full repair off. A U3 is the kind of mark other bidders also see, so the market usually discounts it too.
