B1
B marks mean panel damage, and B1 may mean structural damage.
This is the least consistent letter on the sheet. One major guide gives standalone B as a dent with a scratch in it, and B1 and B2 as distortion of the radiator core support behind the front bumper. Another describes a B1 to B4 dent severity scale.
The difference matters enormously. A dent with a scratch is $600 of bodywork. A distorted core support means the front of the car has been pushed back, which is structural and normally arrives with an R grade.
Do not guess. Look at the printed legend on your sheet, look at where the mark sits on the diagram, and if it is at the front of the car, ask for photographs of the engine bay seams before you bid.
What it should do to your bid
Treat a front-of-car B as structural until a photograph proves otherwise. That is the cheap assumption to be wrong about.
Where sources disagree
Guides genuinely conflict on B. We report both readings rather than choosing one, because auction houses appear to use both.
