Y3
Y3 means a large crack or tear.
A split too large to repair. The part is replaced, and on these cars that means a used original from Japan or a reproduction.
A Y3 on a bumper often travels with a U or a W nearby, because whatever cracked the bumper also moved the metal behind it. Read the neighbouring marks.
A Y3 in the interior, with a D or E interior grade, usually means the car was used hard and stored badly. That is a mechanical warning as much as a cosmetic one.
What it should do to your bid
Price the part first. If nobody has one listed, that is your answer on the car.
Where sources disagree
Same divergence as Y1 and Y2.
We tell you this rather than picking the reading that sounds most confident. The legend printed on your own sheet is the authority for your own car.
