NA1 and NA2

Honda NSX

C30A or C32B, 3.0 or 3.2 V6, rear-wheel drive

Fifteen years of production, August 1990 to November 2005. The NA1 cars have cleared the 25-year rule and the later NA2 cars are still years away.

Aluminium bodywork changes how you read the sheet. Repairs are specialist, panels are expensive, and a W or XX mark on an NSX is a materially bigger fact than on a steel car.

01What to read first on a NA1 and NA2 sheet

Aluminium repairs are not ordinary repairs

A W2 on an NSX quarter panel is not the $1,500 job it would be on a Silvia. Very few shops weld and finish aluminium properly, and the ones that do charge for it.

NA1 against NA2

The later cars have the 3.2 engine and a six-speed. The build month on the sheet places the car, and the value difference is large.

Service history above everything

A 記録簿 note, meaning the service record book is present, is worth more on an NSX than a half grade of condition.

Every mark named above is defined in the codes library, with what it costs to put right at US rates.

Be told when a NA1 and NA2 matters

We write when the NA1 and NA2 clears another month of the 25-year rule, when the yen moves more than 3% your way, and once when the free Decode opens. Nothing else.
