The most expensive JDM car most Americans will ever bid on, and the one where a misread sheet costs the most. Roughly 12,000 were built between January 1999 and August 2002.
Because prices are high, R34s get repaired, restored and represented in ways cheaper cars do not. The build month on the sheet decides both whether you may legally import the car and what it is worth.
The build month is the whole question
The 25-year rule runs from the month of manufacture. A car built in July 2001 clears in July 2026; one built the month after clears the month after. Never take a seller's model year for it.
V-spec, V-spec II, M-spec, Nür
The variant is on the sheet as a grade designation and in the chassis details, and the price difference between them is five figures. Read it there, not in the listing text.
Any W or XX on a welded panel
At this money, a repaired quarter panel is a material fact. Get photographs of the boot floor seams and the strut towers before you bid.
Odometer marks
A #, $ or * next to the mileage means the auction house could not confirm it. On a car this valuable, treat an unconfirmed odometer as a reason to stop.
